Position Requirements
The Business Students’ Association at Vancouver Island University is dedicated to providing experiential learning opportunities for students to help the development of the business leaders of tomorrow.
The Managerial Director is responsible for assisting the Vice-President of Finance with the day-to-day operations with an emphasis on the organization’s internal controls. That contributed to the collaboration within the portfolio as the director provided another overview of financial information and allowed for discussion of various financial topics and issues with the Vice-President of Finance. Responsibilities include preparing expense collections from the Executive team, assisted in the collection of reimbursements from the Students’ Union, reviewed the internal controls of the organization prepared by the Vice-President of Finance, contributed to developing a Finance Handbook for the BSA to assist in the transition between roles each year. In addition, is responsible for cash on hand, gift cards and other tangible assets, as well as assisting the Vice-President of Finance in the organization’s bookkeeping. Lastly, maintaining a relationship with the Students’ Union as well as the VIU Foundation are included in responsibilities of the role. Estimated time commitment is 3 hours per week.
