We offer Island Health’s Medical Terminology assessment in person at our Nanaimo campus. Successful assessment will be considered equivalent to OSME 002 for the purposes of fulfilling the pre-requisite for Health Sciences and Human Services PD&T programs.
Medical Terminology Assessment Overview
- The assessment is comprised of 50 multiple-choice questions and takes 40 minutes to complete.
- The minimum requirement to be successful in this assessment is 72% (36/50).
- You will be provided with an official copy of your assessment score upon completion.
- Students wishing to study should use Chabner's “The Language of Medicine” as all assessment questions are based on this text.
- ID is required.
- Rewrites:
- Can be booked after a one week waiting period.
- Fee of $25.
Successful completion of this assessment in no way guarantees employment. Results are not currently recognized by other employers.
Successful completion of this assessment does not guarantee a place in a VIU program. Results are provided directly to VIU Registration.
