Budgets Director - Business Students' Association

Assisted VP Finance and was responsible for the coordination and delegation of funds for events, correspondence with the Students Union and VIU Foundation, and of funds within the association.

Position Requirements

The Business Students’ Association at Vancouver Island University is dedicated to providing business students with opportunities and experiences outside of the classroom, in order to develop a network of professional, passionate, and community-focused leaders who are not afraid to continually incorporate the art of fun.

As the director of finance, your role will be to assist the VP Finance in day-to-day operations as well as in larger financial decisions. You will assist in the coordination and delegation of funds for events, correspondence with the Students’ Union and VIU Foundation, and of funds within the association. Responsible for the following administrative activities including, recording and reporting expenses, collecting receipts and filing reimbursement. In addition, developing realistic and maintaining budgets for various small and large scale events to ensure funds are utilized effectively. Assisted in implementing stronger internal controls. Lastly, responsibilities include working alongside the Managerial Director and VP Finance to ensure proper financial management. Estimated time commitment is 3 hours per week.
